Migraines are characterized by intense, throbbing pain, often on one side of the head. They are often accompanied by other symptoms such as – Nausea/Vomiting, Sensitivity to light/sound, feeling exhausted/drained, visual disturbances such as flashing lights or blind spots, other sensory changes like tingling or numbness etc. Migraines and headaches can be triggered by a complex interplay of factors, both internal and external such as:

  • Stress and anxiety.
  • Hormonal fluctuations, particularly in women.
  • Changes in sleep patterns.
  • Certain foods and drinks, such as aged cheese, red wine or caffeine.
  • Environmental factors like bright lights, loud noises or strong smells.
  • Medications, including some over-the-counter pain relievers.
  • Underlying medical conditions - high blood pressure, infections or even tumours.
